Practice Message about COVID 19
Following measures have been put in place to reduce the spread of Corona virus. We are trying our best to make this Paediatric practice as safe as possible in order to be able to continue providing medical care.
1. To attempt to reduce the number of people in our waiting room we ask that:
- You please be on time for your appointment.
- If you are early, please call the office before you leave your car. We will let you know if we can accommodate you. If not, then please wait in your car until your appointment time.
- If you are unavoidably late please call to arrange another time slot.
- Try and have only one person with the child in the waiting room.
2. To reduce the risk of infection:
- Please spray and/or wash your hands as you enter and leave the hospital
- Make sure you cover your child’s mouth when coughing and sneezing
- We have removed toys from the offices – you are welcome to bring your own
- Please do not allow your child to play or interact with others in the waiting room
- We need to have minimum contact time and examination time.
- If you need to discuss general issues such as feeding, constipation, growth concerns etc. or if the issue does not require a-hands on examination, we can schedule a virtual consultation. This can be by Cell phone, Whats App, Face time or video call. These will be charged as a normal office consultation rates
3. If you suspect that your child is infected with Corona virus because:
- your child has returned from overseas or
- has a high fever and coughing or
- your child has been in contact with someone known to be infected with COVID 19 then please:
- Let our staff know about this concern so that we can decide if you can be seen in our rooms or if you need to be assessed in a special facility in the hospital.
- If possible, put a mask on your child and on yourself. Do mandatory hands rub with alcohol before entering our rooms or hospital
We must all participate in these attempts to make the practice a safe place for all children we see. Thanks for your understanding and co-operation
